Herman Wirth




German anthropologist and archaeologist. Wirth's research into the religions and symbols of the ancient Germanics led him to conclude that an Atlantic-Nordic race, originating in the Arctic, introduced writing and monotheism to the prehistoric world.

Professor Herman Wirth Roeper Bosch (b. 1885, Utrecht, Netherlands – d. 1981, Kusel, Germany)

In 1925, he co-founded the Deutsches Ahnenerbe, a society for research into ancient Aryan culture. The first department of the organization was created directly by him, the Institute for the Study of Script and Symbol, which paid particular attention to the history of ancient runic alphabets.
